You Aren't Alone

Bible Reading: 1 Kings 19:1-21

Are you the only Christian in your family? Do you feel like you are the only Christian in your school or neighborhood? Have many of your Christian friends quit living for God?

While you may sometimes feel like you are the only Christian left, you don’t need to feel alone in your devotion to God. In fact, the people worldwide are committed to loving and serving God. Even the prophet Elijah thought he was the only person left who was faithful to God. He actually told God, “I have been very zealous for the LORD God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, broken down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too” (1 Kings 19:10).

Don’t give in to discouragement. Here are some things you can do to encourage and reassure yourself that you aren’t alone, that there are other people who are still faithfully serving God:

* Read about Elijah’s discouragement and how God encouraged and reassured him in 1 Kings 19.

* Ask God to help you locate other committed Christians.

* Talk to your pastor about your feelings.

* Visit PH121 – Today, Tomorrow, & Forever! regularly.

* Visit other Christian websites, blogs, and Facebook pages.

* Join a Christian Facebook group.

* Go to church.

* E-mail me. I will be glad to reassure you and encourage you to keep serving God and growing in your faith.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Hebrews 10:25

Prayer: Heavenly Father, give me the strength and courage to keep serving You even when I feel lost and alone in the world. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
