Bible Reading: Philippians 1:9-11 & Romans 6:1-14
In Philippians 1:9-11, the Apostle Paul prayer this prayer for the people of Philippi: “And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of
insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ-to the glory and praise of God.” This prayer is for us, too. Paul want us to live “pure and blameless” lives, lives “filled with the fruit of righteousness.” We can only do this is we have invited Jesus to be the Lord and Savior of our lives.
Once we have accepted Jesus’ forgiveness and salvation, we begin to change and live out the answer to Paul’s prayer.
One way this happens is by looking to Jesus and following His example in all we do. By asking the question, “W.W.J.D. – What Would Jesus Do?” before we act or speak, we can evaluate the words we are about to say and the actions we are about to take in light of Jesus’ example.
How do those for initials and the words they stand for fit into your life? Are they simply an expression or are the initials W.W.J.D. a way of life? Do you spend time reading the Bible and hearing it taught so you will know what Jesus would do in a given situation? Do you actively examine potential actions by comparing them to Jesus’ actions and by asking, “What Would Jesus Do?”
Is W.W.J.D. something you wear on the outsideof your body as a bracelet or necklace or is W.W.J.D. an integral part of your life deeply rooted inside your heart?
How will you make W.W.J.D. central in your life beginning today?
“Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” Romans 6:3 &4
Prayer: Heavenly Father, before I take any action, help me to always consider what Jesus would do in that circumstance. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
