Bible Reading: Psalm 34:9 & 10
In Psalm 34:9 & 10 the psalmist wrote, “Fear the LORD, you his saints, for those who fear him lack nothing. The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the
LORD lack no good thing.”
What a wonderful promise! As a faithful child of God we can be assured of God’s love, God’s care, and God’s provision. God has promised to provide us with everything we will ever need:
Food
Clothing
Shelter
Strength
Patience
Love
Hope
Security
Comfort
Nourishment
Kindness
Self-control
The list goes on. God will never fail us. God has promised to love us and provide for us, and God always keeps His promises!
Sometimes, however, we begin to have doubts. We feel uncertain and insecure. Sometimes it feels like God is very far away.
That’s one of the reasons why God gave us the gift of family and friends. Our family and Christian friends are our personal support system. When we are feeling uncertain, afraid, nervous, worried, or discouraged, they are there to help reassure us that God is still with us, that God still cares about us, and that God still loves us.
Are you going through some kind of “down” time? Tell God about it. Then go to someone in your God-given support system and talk to that person as well. Let God use him or her to reassure you.
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me and taking care of me. Thank You for the people You’ve given to me to be my personal support system In Jesus’ name. Amen.
