What It Should be like When a Christian Enters a Room

Bible Reading: 1 Peter 2:12 & Matthew 5:14-16

A room should be different when we, as Christians, enter it. Our presence should make things like joy, peace, calmness, love, graciousness, and respectfulness more noticeable

to others in the room. Our presence in a room should also create a clearly lit path that leads toward God. We should “live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.” as Peter tells us in 1 Peter 2:12

Because the Holy Spirit is all of those things, you, as a Christian, should be those things since you were filled with them when Jesus’ Holy Spirit came to live in your heart. You should also be that light because, God is Light, and, since you have God’s Spirit living in you, you are in Jesus’ words, “the light of the world” (Matthew 5:14). In essence, when you enter a room, the Holy Spirit enters the room. Any room with the Holy Spirit in it has to be different. Don’t you agree?

“In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16

Prayer: Heavenly Father, let others see You every time they see me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
