Bible Reading: Acts 16:31b
The creator of a TV commercial is hired first to advertise – to let all potential buyers know that a product exists. The next part of his job is to attract – to make the product so
desirable that people are drawn to the product like metal to a magnet.
If the creator of the commercial had done his job well, people will believe his sales pitch and flock to the stores and the product will practically fly off the store shelves!
Satan spends a lot of time advertising his products: drugs, extra-marital sex, lying, stealing, cheating, and so on. Satan is eager for us to buy into his “bill of goods” which offers temporary pleasure.
God has invested His most valuable asset – Jesus – in advertising the alternative to the temporary pleasures of Satan’s goods – forgiveness of sin and eternal life. All you have to do is “…Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved…”
Whose advertising are you buying into?
“Whoever believes in the Son [Jesus] has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him.” John 3:36
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I want the forgiveness and eternal life that You have to offer through faith in Jesus Christ. It’s the best deal around! In Jesus’ name. Amen.
