Wednesday at the well: Romans 5:3-5 - Be happy

Bible Verses to Explore: Romans 5:3-5

In today's Bible Reading, Paul said, “...we are also happy with the troubles we have.” It seems strange to think that God wants us to be happy while we are experiencing

problems.

What does it mean to be happy during hard times? To be happy during hard times means that we feel secure. It means that we know that God is in control. It means that we feel content because we believe God loves us and cares about us. It means that we feel peace because we know hard times are temporary.

How can you be happy when you are experiencing times of trouble?

First, remember that doing everything “right” doesn’t guarantee that everything will go perfectly. Second, ask God to bless and use what you can do Third, do what you can do

and trust God to do the rest. Fourth, be willing to let God use you and work through you. Fifth, remember that God is preparing you for something special.

I hope you trust God to take care of you even during hard times. If you do, you will be happy because, “We have been made right with God because of our faith. So we have peace with him through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Romans 5:1)

Oh, and remember…“We know that in everything God works for the good of those who love him. These are the people God chose, because that was his plan”

(Romans 8:28).

Let’s pray. Heavenly Father, 23 trust You to take care of us. We believe You really do know best. Help us to remember that You are always in control. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
