Wednesday at the Well: Romans 10:9-10 - Christianity is Full of Action Verbs

Bible Verses to Explore: Romans 10:9-13

Living a Christian life isn’t living the life of a couch potato. Christianity is an action-packed lifestyle, full of action verbs.

All this action starts with our choosing to accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, as Roman’s 10:9 shows. I’ve bolded the action verbs. This verse reads, “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Here are a few more examples of

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

Believe in the Lord Jesus, . . “ (Acts 16:31)

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” (Matthew 7:7)

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: `Love your neighbor as yourself.’“ (Mark 12:30-31)

Pray continually.” (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.” (Mark 16:15)

Why is the Bible so full of action? God is a God of action. For example, read John 3:16:

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Are you looking for action? Are you looking for a get-up-and-go lifestyle?

Give up your couch potato lifestyle and go for the active Christian lifestyle. Stand up, then bow down and ask God to forgive you and take you into his family!

Serve the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling.” Psalm 2:11

Let’s pray. Heavenly Father, we want a part of Your action! Use us as You know best. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Please download the Inductive Study Guide and use it to help you uncover more of God’s action verbs.

God bless!
