Wednesday at the Well: Romans 10:9-10 - 5 Ways to Explain the Plan of Salvation

Bible Verses to Explore: Romans 10:9 & 10

God’s plan for our salvation from sin is summarized in Romans 10:9 & 10: “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from

the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” Even so, it can sometimes seem difficult to explain.

Here are five tools that can help you explain the plan of salvation to your friends and family:

1. Connect them to PH 121: Today, Tomorrow, & Forever and show them “My Story.”

2. Read them John 14:6, "" and talk them through the “A B C’s of Salvation”:

Admit you’ve done wrong things.

Believe Jesus died because of the wrong things you’ve done.

Claim Jesus to be your way into heaven.

3. Show them the “Salvation Bridge.”

4. Walk them down the Romans Road," starting with Romans 3:23:

5. Share the “What is Salvation?” story.

6. Show them the “Wordless Book.”

I hope you will bravely take a step of faith and use one or more of these tools to share Jesus with the people you love today!

Here’s a BONUS – Read or recite John 3:16 & 17 to them: “For God so loved the

world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” Then, simply talk about what this verse, often called “The Gospel in a Nutshell,” means.

Let’s pray. Heavenly Father, give us the right words to tell our friends about the gift of salvation through Jesus that You have prepared for them. Then give us the courage to obey You and speak those words. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope you will download the Inductive Study Guide and use it to help you better prepare to share the gospel.

God bless!
