Bible Verses to Explore: Romans 10:8-13

Suppose you buy a bunch of carrots. If you put one carrot a pan and cook it are all of the carrots cooked?

No. Only the carrot in the pan is cooked. In order to be cooked, each carrot has to be put in the pan itself. A carrot can’t become cooked just because one carrot in its bunch is cooked.

It’s the same with being a Christian. Romans 10:9 says, “If you openly say, ‘Jesus is Lord’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from death, youwill be saved.” That means, if you want to be a Christian, you must admit your sin. You must believe Jesus died because of your sins. You must believe Jesus rose to life again. You must ask Jesus to forgive your sins and take

control of your life.

Even if every person in your entire family has done those things and become a Christian, that doesn’t automatically make you a Christian. You must admit your sins, believe in Jesus, and ask him to forgive you and take over your life. You must do that yourself –no one can do it for you.

I encourage you to tell God about your sins, tell Jesus you believe He died for you, and ask God to forgive you today. As Romans 10:13 says, “Yes, ‘everyone who trusts in the Lord God will be saved,’” but each person must make that choice for him or herself.

Please, pray with me. Heavenly Father, I believe Jesus died for me. Forgive me and take control of my life. Touch the hearts and souls of each individual. Draw each of them to You so that he or she will want to choose Jesus as his or her Lord and Savior and give You control over his or her life, too. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Thanks for praying with me…and thanks for joining me and reading today’s thoughts. I hope you will click the logo above and download the study guide and continue this study on your own.

God bless!
