Wednesday at the Well: Psalm 66:16-20 - Power

Bible Verses to Explore: Psalm 66:16-20

All computers need a power source. They need electricity. In order to access electricity, computers need to be connected to an electric outlet or battery. If you unplug the cord

or unhook the battery computers quit running. Without a power source, computers are useless. Without power, computers can’t function.

As Christians, God is our power source. We need to stay connected to God to have access to his strength, wisdom, knowledge, character, and love. Without God’s power, we become useless, powerless Christians.

Prayer is the power cord that keeps us connected to God. We need to talk to God regularly. We need to listen to his responses, silently in our hearts and through his word, the Bible.

We also need to keep sin out of our lives. Sin is the only thing that will unplug us from God and his power. Verse 18b in our Bible reading tells us, “If I had been hiding sin in my heart, he would not have listened to me.” When we’ve done something wrong, we need to tell God about it right away. We need to ask for his forgiveness. When we do, we will be plugged back in to God’s power again. Then we can celebrate, like the psalmist, saying, “Praise God! He did not turn away from me – he listened to my prayer. He continues to show his love to me!” Psalm 66:20

Let’s pray together. Heavenly Father, We’re sorry for the wrong that we’ve done. Please reconnect us to Your power. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

I hope you will download the Inductive Study Guide and draw a little closer to God though His word.

God bless!
