Wednesday at the Well: Psalm 130 - God Knows

Bible Verses to Explore: Psalm 130

Are you worried or afraid? Do you believe to tell anyone about your problems?

Don’t be afraid to tell God about your worries and fears. Even if you aren’t sure

what words or signs to use to tell God what you need, it doesn’t matter. God will understand.

God already knows every fear, every worry, and every sin that you have hidden in your heart. He isn’t overwhelmed by them. He isn’t afraid of them. He isn’t embarrassed by them. He doesn’t love you any less because you have those fears and worries or because you have committed those sins.

Go ahead. Be like the psalmist in today’s Bible reading. He started his prayer saying, “ Lord, I am in deep trouble, so I am calling to you for help. My Lord, listen to me. Listen to my cry for help.” (verses 1 &2)

You don’t have to use a lot of words or signs. You don’t need special words or fancy words. Just tell God what is in your heart. Then trust Him to take care of you and comfort you. A practical way to remind yourself that God is on your side is to add Psalm 140:6 to your prayers. This verse reads, “Lord, you are my God. Lord, listen to my prayer.”

Please pray with me. Heavenly Father, thank You for always being there when I need you. You are our God. We are confident that You hear and listen to our prayers. We ask You to give us courage and strength to face all our fears, worries, and weaknesses and we trust You to hear and answer this prayer and all our prayers, which are prayed seeking Your will and Your best for our lives. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
