Wednesday at the Well: Philippians 4:6-7 - Shoes

Bible Verses to Explore: Philippians 4:6 & 7

Imagine you’ve had a long tiring day. Your feet hurt. You decide to go home, fill a tub with warm water, and soak. Suppose you left your shoes on and put your feet in the

tub? What would happen?

Your feet wouldn’t relax. The shoes would be an uncomfortable distraction. They would feel wet and heavy. If you want your feet to be able to fully relax and enjoy the heat of the water, you need to take off your shoes!

What about the rest of your life? Can you completely relax and trust God to take care of the stress and worry of your daily troubles? Have you “taken off” the shoes of ignorance, worry, fear, frustration – anything that would interfere with your ability to enjoy the warmth of God’s love and

the comfort of God’s care?

Of course you can! Philippians 4:6 tells us, “Don’t worry about anything, but pray and ask God for everything you need, always giving thanks for what you have.” So please, “take off your shoes,” get comfortable with God, and “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7). Trust God to take care of you.

Will you please pray with me?

Heavenly Father, take the stress and worries of our day. Help us to trust You to take care of them.

Thanks for stopping by!
