Wednesday at the Well: Matthew 22:37-39 - With All Your Heart

Bible Verses to Explore: Matthew 22:37-39

Imagine you love someone with all your heart. You want to make that person happy. You want to give him things that make him happy. You want the best of

everything for him.

Now, imagine that you aren’t certain that person loves you. How do you feel? That uncertainty causes sadness in your heart. It causes an ache where there should be joy.

God loves you with all of his heart. He wants you to be happy. He wants to give you all the desires of your heart. He wants the best of everything for you.

God wants you to love Him with all your heart, the same way He loves you. That is what Jesus taught in today’s Bible reading. In verse 37 of today’s Bible reading Jesus quoted Deuteronomy 6:5 which says,

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.”

One way you can show God you love Him is to obey Jesus’ command in verse 39 of our reading: “Love your neighbor the same as you love yourself.”

Does God know that you love Him with all of your heart? Why not show Him today!

Let’s pray together. Heavenly Father, I do love you with all my heart. Let me show you that I am devoted to you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

I enjoyed meditating on God’s word with you today. Come again!

God bless!
