Wednesday at the Well: John 6:46 - Trust the Unseen

Bible Verses to Explore: John 6:46

Do you think you must see something to believe it is real?

That’s not true.

Have you ever seen the wind?

Have you ever seen the magnetic force that attracts steel toward a magnet?

Have you ever seen the gravity that holds us to the earth?

Of course not.

We can’t see any of those things, but we know that they exist. We believe in them because we can see the affects they have on us and on the things around us. We see the wind blowing the leaves on the trees. We feel the pull of the metal toward the magnet. We see ourselves standing

on the ground, not floating in the air.

In John 6:46 Jesus said, “The only one who has ever seen the Father is the one who came from God. He has seen the Father.” In 1 John 4:12 John added, “No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us. If we love each other, God’s love has reached its goal—it is made perfect in us.” We can’t see God, but we know He is real because we can see the affect He has on us and on the things around us. We see the order and organization in nature. We see the intricate plan and design of the entire universe. We see the selfish person become eager to help others after asking Jesus into his or her life.

Sometimes we don’t need to see to believe. Sometimes we simply need to have faith.

Let’s pray together. Heavenly Father, we can’t see You, but we do believe that You exist. We also believe You love us and sent Jesus to die for us. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Thanks for coming and joining me for a bit of time in God’s word.See You soon!God bless.
