Wednesday at the Well: Hebrews 4:12-13 - Where Is Your Bible?

Bible Verses to Explore: Hebrews 4:12 &13

The Bible is God’s message to us. It is a special love letter God wrote just for us. We should want to read the Bible every day. We should want to study and memorize the Bible. We

should want to learn to understand everything the Bible teaches.

Why?

First, God's word is powerful. Hebrews 4:12 tells us, "For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."

Second, Reading the Bible helps us to get to know God better. It helps us learn God’s plan for our lives. Reading the Bible helps us become more like Jesus. It helps our faith in God grow stronger. Reading the Bible is one way to

show God that we love him.

Where is your Bible? Sitting on a shelf becoming dusty? In a drawer under your socks? Lost?

I hope you can find your Bible. I hope you take care of your Bible. I hope you respect your Bible. I hope enjoy reading your Bible every day. God hopes so, too. After all, as Psalm 119:72 says of the Bible, “The law from your mouth is more precious to me than thousands of pieces of silver and gold.”

Let’s pray together. Heavenly Father, remind us to open our Bibles and read from them every day. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

I would like to thank you for taking time to read this devotional post and encourage you to spend a bit more time meditating on today’s scripture. You can download the Inductive Study Guide to help your time of study, meditation, and reflection.

God bless!
