Bible Verses to Explore: Exodus 12:31-42
Have you ever prayed then had to wait a very long time for the answer? Maybe you are still waiting?
Why does God make us wait?
Sometimes God makes us wait because He knows we’ll appreciate the answer more when He does answer or because what we want isn’t what is best for us.
Sometimes God make us wait because He knows we aren’t ready to receive what we have asked Him to give us.
The Israelites were like that.
For many years, the Israelites were slaves in Egypt. Many times they asked God to rescue them, but God made them wait. Verses 40 & 41 of today’s Bible reading says, “The Israelites had lived in Egypt for 430
years. After 430 years, to the very day, all the armies of the Lord left Egypt.”
God loved the Israelites, but He made them wait 430 for the answer to their prayers. When He answered their prayers, God’s answer wasn’t what they expected. God answered their prayers at the perfect time and in the perfect way. God’s answer was full of amazing miracles!
Keep praying and “Wait for the Lord’s help. Be strong and brave, and wait for the Lord’s help” (Psalm 27:14). God will answer your prayers at the perfect time and in the perfect way. God’s answers are always worth the wait!
Will you please pray with me? Heavenly Father, we trust You to answer our prayers at the perfect time and in the perfect way. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
