Bible Verses to Explore: Acts 15:4-12
In today’s Bible reading, Barnabas and Paul were at a meeting of the apostles and elders of the church. During this meeting, they told their story of how Gentiles were
learning the truth about Jesus and accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior.
Verse 4 says, “When the men arrived in Jerusalem, the apostles, the elders, and the whole church welcomed them. Paul, Barnabas, and the others told about all that God had done with them.” Barnabas and Paul didn’t hold back. They told the people in Antioch about Jesus. They also told the apostles and elders about what Jesus was doing through Barnabas and Paul.
You can be like Barnabas and Paul. You can tell people your story. Yes, your story. If you have asked Jesus to be your Savior, you do have a story. How can you understand what
your story is? Ask yourself: “What was my life like before Jesus? How did I come to ask Jesus to be my Savior? How is my life different now that Jesus is a part of it?”
Now, take your answers and put them all together. That is your story.
Tell it to a friend, just as Jesus said in Mark 16:15, “Go everywhere in the world. Tell the Good News to everyone.”
Let’s pray together. Heavenly Father, thank You for giving each of us story to tell. Help us to use our stories to tell people the good news about Jesus. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
