Bible Verses to Explore: 2 Corinthians 9:6-9
When you give to the Lord, do you give a little or a lot? Do you give by the teaspoon or by the bucket?
God expects us to use our time, our money, and our skills to serve Him and to show His love to other people.
Verse 6 of today’s Bible reading says, “Remember this: The one who plants few seeds will have a small harvest. But the one who plants a lot will have a big harvest.” That means if we give to others by the teaspoon – in little amounts – we will be rewarded by the dropper – with little amounts. but, if we give to others by the bucket – big amounts – we will be rewarded by the barrel – really big amounts!
God blesses our generosity and kindness. The more we give, the more we get.
I hope you remember the words of Jesus in Luke 6:38, “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” I hope you will give to God and to other people by the bucketful! “As the Scriptures say, ‘He gives generously to the poor; his goodness will continue forever’” (2 Corinthians 9:9).
Let’s pray together. Heavenly Father, thank You for all that you’ve given to us. Help us to give to You and to others as freely as You gave to us. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
