Bible Verses to Explore: 1 Thessalonians 1:2
1 Thessalonians 1:2 reads, "We always thank God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayers." Paul knew people were praying for him. He was grateful for those prayers.
Paul's words bring to mind the thought, Just exactly who should be on my prayer list? Here's a brief guide:
* Other Christians (John 17:6-9)
* Christ’s ministries (Luke 10:2
* The sick and hurting (James 5:14-16)
* The unsaved (I John 5:16)
* You (John 17:1-5)
* Your enemies (Luke 6:28, 36)
* Those in authority (I Timothy 2:1-2)
Now you fill in the specific names. Remember, you don’t need perfect words or all the details to pray. James 5:16 says, “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other
so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” James 5:16 If you aren’t sure what names to put on your list, the Holy Spirit will help you. Just start talking to God and listening to the Holy Spirit, He’ll do the rest.
Please pray with me.
Heavenly Father, speak to our hearts and tell us specifically who You want us to pray for. In Jesus' name. Amen.
