Wednesday at the Well: 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 - Clean God's Room

Bible Verses to Explore: 1 Corinthians 6:19 & 20

How would you feel if your best friend dumped a bucket of mud in your living room?

Hurt? Angry? Confused? Unloved?

You’d probably feel all of those things. That room is where you live! Of course you want your room clean. No one wants to live in a mud. You would probably think or say something like, “How could someone who says they love me treat me so badly?”

After you accept Jesus as your Savior, your body is where God’s Holy Spirit lives. Verse 19 of today’s Bible reading says, “You should know that your body is a temple for the Holy Spirit that you received from God and that lives in you. You don’t own

yourselves.”

Why?

Because “God paid a very high price to make you his. So honor God with your body” (1 Corinthians 6:20).

Imagine how God feels when you “dump mud” in his room by abusing drugs, alcohol, food, having in sex outside of marriage or committing some other sin!

I pray that you will take care of your body, God’s house, and keep it clean for His Holy Spirit.

Please pray with me. Heavenly Father, forgive us for dirtying Your “room.” Help us to keep it clean and pure from now on. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

I’m glad you came today!

God bless!
