Want Knowledge?

Bible Reading: Proverbs 2:3-5

God doesn’t want to keep you guessing about His plan for your life; neither does he want to keep you confused about what the Bible says or means. God really does

want you to understand who He is and what He does. In fact, Proverbs 2:3-5 says, “And if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.”

Does it seem unlikely to you (or even impossible) that you could ever understand God, His plans, His Word, or His way of doing things?

Take heart. God has given us a very simple formula for getting the knowledge and understanding of God that we want. Be aware, though, that knowing God and His ways and understanding God and His messages won’t just happen to you because you are a Christian. If you honestly want to know and understand God, you must take action. Today’s verse gives us God’s three-step formula for getting the knowledge and understanding of God that we want:

* Call out – tell God that you want to know about Him and His ways.

* Cry aloud – ask God to give you the ability to understand what the knowledge that He gives you means.

* Look – search the Bible, take Bible classes, talk to more mature Christians, ask questions, read books.

I hope you will follow this formula and allow God to help you grow daily in godly knowledge and understanding.

“For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.” Proverbs 2:6

Prayer: Heavenly Father, teach me about You and Your ways and help me to understand Your lessons. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
