United We Stand

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Life changes.

My life has changed.

As a result, I am discontinuing this website/blog.

I have posts planned through June 26, 2023. After that, I plan to continue to write and share my devotions and artwork via my social media accounts on Facebook, LinkedIn, and True Social. (If you use a different social media platform and would prefer to have me share on it, let me know and I will consider opening an account on that platform.)

If you would like to continue reading my posts, you may follow me on one of the above social media platforms. I am considering sending my posts to subscribers. If you are interested in receiving a weekly email from me with that week’s post, let me know and I will consider the level of interest in my thought process.

Thank you for faithfully following and reading my posts for the past few years.

God bless!

Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 1:10

While watching the various football games this past winter, I noticed something. Each game was played by two different teams often from 2 different states wearing two

different styles of uniforms and with 2 very different ideas about should win the game.

However, there was one common thread running between the teams. On each uniform, emblazoned on the helmet or shoulder or over the heart, was an American flag. All of those athletes were united in their loyalty to their country – The United States of America. They understood the meaning of the phrase, “United We Stand.”

That’s what Paul was talking about in 1 Corinthians 1:10 – “I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought.” Each Christian is a different person often with different interpretations of what some parts of the Bible mean, different convictions, different tastes in music and worship style. Yet, we are to be as one – united in our belief the Jesus is Lord and in our passion to love, honor, worship, and obey Him and share Him with others. Paul wanted us to remember that, with Christ, “United We Stand.”

“I [Jesus] have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.” John 17:22 & 23

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to look past my differences with other Christians and focus on what unites me with them – You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
