Bible Reading: 1 John 5:4, 5
Victory is sweet! The indescribable feeling that goes beyond happiness and beyond contentment follows an aced test, a won ball game, or a successfully fought
battle.
Jesus won the greatest victory of all. Jesus defeated Satan and ended Satan’s ability to control us by keeping us trapped by sin.
We can share that feeling of victory with Jesus. 1 John 5:4 & 5 talk about how we can share Jesus’ victory over sin and Satan saying, “For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.” All we need to do is believe that Jesus won the war against Satan and sin. When we tell Jesus that we believe that He died to defeat Satan and win our freedom from sin, we will have the sweetest victory of all!
“But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 15:57
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I believe that Jesus was victorious over Satan and sin. Forgive my sins and share that victory with me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
