Bible Verses to Explore: Matthew 22:1-14
Imagine that you are planning a really great party. You’ve sent invitations to all of your friends, bought all the food, and finished all of the decorating.
Then you get all of the RSVP’s. None of your friends are coming.
What do you do? Cancel the party?
No way!
Instead of canceling, you go out into the streets and all around your neighborhood. You invite everyone you see, no matter who they are or what they look like to come to your party. You fill your house with guests and have a great party!
Why weren’t your friends there?
You invited them, but they didn’t accept your invitation. Those people who came were there because they accepted your invitation.
God has invited each of us to a wonderful party in heaven that will last forever. 1 Corinthians 2:9 tells us that “No one has ever seen, no one has ever heard, no one has ever imagined what God has prepared for those who love him,” and Jesus said in Matthew 22;14, “Yes, many people are invited. But only a few are chosen.”
Jesus has invited you to have your sins forgiven so that you can go to heaven. The only way you’ll be in heaven is if you accept his invitation.
