The Only Escape

Bible Reading: Ecclesiastes 12:14

No human eyes saw Adam and Eve eat the forbidden fruit, but God knew what they had done. They were punished just as surely as if there had been hundreds of witnesses to

their crime.

When we do anything that we know violates God’s key commands to love God and to love others we are guilty of sin. It doesn’t matter if there are hundreds of witness or if no human ever finds out what we did. We are equally guilty. When the time comes, “For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil” (Ecclesiastes 12:14). God will see to it that we are punished for our sins, because, even if no one on earth knows what sins we committed, God knows and God must punish all sin.

There is only one way to escape being punished for our sins. We must admit what we’ve done to God, ask His forgiveness, and accept the fact of Jesus’ death in our place as the punishment for our sins. Believing in Jesus is the only escape from the punishment for our sins.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” Romans 3:23 & 24

Prayer: Heavenly Father, know one knows my secret sins, but You know. Forgive me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
