The Most Important Choice

Bible Reading: Leviticus 26:43b

Have you offered advice to a friend only to have that friend reject your help and go on to make a really bad choice?

How did it feel knowing that your friend could have avoided the pain and frustration that resulted from the consequences of his actions if he’d only accepted your help?

Leviticus 26:43b says, “They will pay for their sins because they rejected my laws and abhorred my decrees.” Sin, like bad choices, has consequences, earthly consequences and eternal consequences.

God has offered each of us instructions and advice that if you accept them and follow them will keep you from suffering much pain and frustration. He has also offered us help out of the eternal consequences of sin. That help comes through the death and resurrection of Jesus. If you accept this help and believe Jesus died so you wouldn’t have to die, you will avoid having to spend eternity suffering the consequences of your own really bad choice.

I pray that, if you haven’t done so already, you will make the best and most important choice of your life right now. Ask God to forgive your sins and choose Jesus to be your Lord and Savior.

“So Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.” Hebrews 9:28

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I don’t want You to feel the sadness I feel when a friend refuses my help. I want to accept all of the help that You have to offer. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
