Bible Reading: Psalms 119:60
Why don’t you spend as much time with God as you’d like? Are you too busy? Are you too distracted? Maybe you’re too tired or too confused about where to start?
How do you feel knowing that you are letting God – and yourself – down by not spending more time with God? Do you feel sad? Ashamed? Frustrated? Irritated? Angry? Guilty? Disappointed?
Take the words of Psalm 119:60 to heart and “hasten and not delay to obey your [God’s] commands.”
Stop procrastinating and making excuses.
Start doing what you want to do and what you know God wants you to do.
If you willingly give up your time to be with God, God will help you focus your attention on Him and energize you so that you will be able to understand what He is saying to you through His word.
Stop focusing on unproductive, negative emotions.
Start focusing on God and the productive, positive things that He wants to teach you and do through you.
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I’ve stopped making excuses. Start teaching me and working through me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
