Should I...?

Bible Reading: Matthew 28:19 & 20

Have you caught yourself wondering whether or not to invite someone to church, a Christian concert or play, or some other Christ-centered event?

Have you found yourself praying and asking God questions like, “Should I invite him to youth meeting?” “Should I ask her to join my Bible study group?”

For you to ask questions like that – of yourself or of God – is unnecessary. It is always right to encourage other people to find out about God, to worship God, to explore Jesus’ death and resurrection, study the Bible, and listen to Christ-honoring music – always.

Jesus gave us a clear command in Matthew 28:19 & 20 – “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Emphasis added.)

Sharing the gospel, asking spiritual questions, inviting others to Christ-centered gatherings, and praying with and for others, are all ways of obeying that command…and obeying Jesus’ command is always right. Always.

“He replied, ‘Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.’” Luke 11:28

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to always obey Your commands. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
