Secret Admirer

Bible Reading: Matthew 10:32-33

Some people have a secret admirer, a person who loves and respects them without that person’s knowledge. The secret admirer doesn’t do anything to let anyone, including the

person admired, know his identity. Though, occasionally, the secret admirer might do something nice for the person he admires while continuing to keep his identity a secret.

We should never be God’s secret admirers. We should not try to keep our love for God a secret from God or from other people. In fact, our love for God should be demonstrated with the biggest P. D. A. – Public Display of Affection – that we can muster! We should never want to hide our faith in Jesus. We should want to shout it from the rooftops for all to hear.

Why?

Our love for God and our passion for His way of living should be so powerful that we couldn’t contain it, even if we wanted to try to keep it to ourselves. That’s what Jesus was teaching in Luke 19:37-40 when the Pharisees wanted Jesus to hush His disciples as they joyously acknowledged and praised God. Jesus told the Pharisees that if the disciples were to “…keep quiet, the stones will cry out” in worship and praise to God.

Let’s be like those disciples. Let’s live our faith in Jesus for all to see.

“Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.” Luke 19:40

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I want everyone, everywhere to see just how much I love You! In Jesus’ name. Amen.
