Recharge Your Battery

Bible Reading: Mark 1:35

Jesus experienced everything that we experience, even the need to be alone. After being surrounded by crowds for hours teaching and healing, Jesus needed to “recharge

His battery.” Mark 1:35 tells us that “Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.” Jesus needed some peace and quiet, some time alone, and some time alone with God.

When your battery is low, you’ve helped and served and worked and done everything that you know God wanted you to do, don’t be ashamed or embarrassed to go “to a solitary place”. Follow Jesus’ example. Take some time off to rest and pray. Take some time to read God’s word and recharge your battery. When you’ve done that, like Jesus, you will be ready to rejoin the crowd and get back to work for God.

“After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray.” Matthew 14:23a

Prayer: Heavenly Father, keep my “battery” fully charged. As I spend time in Your word and talking to You in prayer, give me the energy I need to faithfully work for You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
