Prayer Is Our Job...Answers Are God's Job

Bible Reading: Psalm 40:1

Have you prayed, and prayed, and prayed for something and still haven’t received an answer? As hard as it can be, we need to do just as the psalmist did and wait

“patiently for the LORD.” He not only knows the best way to answer our prayers, He know the best time to answer them. God’s timing is always perfect. Therefore, it is important for us emulate the psalmist who wrote Psalm 40:1. He wrote, “I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry.”

At just the right moment, God will do His job and answer our prayers.

What is our job?

* Pray persistently

* Wait patiently.

* Look expectantly.

Since we know that God will answer our prayers in the best way and at the best time, we need to expect answers, knowing that answers will come.

Finally, there is one last part to our job. We need to recognize answers. God may not answer our prayers in the way we think He will answer them or the way that we want Him to answer them, so we need to keep our eyes open and look for things or events that could be the answer that we are waiting for.

“We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in you.” Psalm 33:20-22

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I’m waiting. I know You will answer my prayers when the time is right. Help me to see Your answers to that I may thank You for them. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
