Power

Bible Reading: Deuteronomy 3:24 & Job 26:14

We have two sources from which we can choose to draw the strength, power, wisdom, and hope for your lives: We can choose to rely on our own puny, weak, over-rated power

or we can choose to rely on the gigantic, unlimited, stupendous, extraordinary power of God.

Deuteronomy 3:24 tells us that there is no god like the One True God and no power source like the power of the One True God.

Job 26:14 adds this about the awesome power of God: “And these are but the outer fringe of his works; how faint the whisper we hear of him! Who then can understand the thunder of his power?” In other words, no matter which words we choose to try to describe the power of God, they fall short, because God’s power defies description.

The most amazing thing about the amazing power of God is that, once we confess our sins and give our lives to Jesus Christ, God’s power becomes our power. It is there for us to access through prayer and faith.

Who’s power are you counting on?

I can do everything through him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13

Prayer: Heavenly Father, let Your power, the power that defies description, fill my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
