Bible Reading: Matthew 5:16
When you buy a pair of jeans, you want them to fit your body.
First, you want to be comfortable.
Next, you want to look good.
Finally, you want to actually be able to wear them. If they don’t fit, they are useless to you.
In order to fit correctly, the jeans need to be the same size and shape as your body. We – not the jeans – decide if a pair of jeans is too big nor too small, too short nor too long.
For God to actually be able to use us to share the news about Jesus, we need to fit correctly the plan that He has. It helps to be comfortable and able to confidently share the Gospel. We need to look like Jesus so that God will “look good” and people will appreciate what they see and want to look like Jesus as well. We need to be “wearable” by God – letting God decide how we best fit into His plan and allowing Him to use us in whatever way He believes is best.
Will you allow God to use you to complete His plan? Will you “…let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven”?
“Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed – not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence – continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.” Philippians 2:12 & 13
Prayer: Heavenly Father, make me into a shape that fits Your plan perfectly. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
