Bible Reading: 1 John 4:7-12
God didn’t just say that He loved us. He showed us that He loved us by sending Jesus to be punished and die in our place. We didn’t deserve God’s love. We didn’t
deserve to go unpunished. We didn’t deserve eternal life in heaven, but God gave us those things anyway. That’s real love.
God wants – expects – us to show Him that we appreciate what He gave us. How? 1 John 4:11 & 12 gives us the answer saying, “Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.” God wants us to pass on His love. He wants us to let our friends and our enemies see Him and His love through our lives. To do that, we must love them. When we love them – even when they don’t deserve our love – We are letting God show His love for them through us.
Accept God’s love and grace into your life. Then pass it on!
“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.” 1 John 4:7
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I accept your love. Now love others through me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
