Only a Little

Bible Reading: John 6:8 & 9

John 6:8 & 9 tells us about a little boy who offered his lunch to Jesus. These verses say, “Another of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, spoke up, ‘Here is a boy

with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?’” Jesus was able to use this simple offering to do a tremendous miracle, the miracle of feeding 5,000 men plus the women and children who were with them.

What do you have to offer to God? Are you rich? Are you a fabulous teacher or singer? Can you build churches or hospitals?

Not many of us can do any of those things. Most of us have fairly modest talents and bank accounts.

God doesn’t expect any one of us to do impressive things for Him. As a matter of fact, the less impressive we look, the more impressive God looks. When we aren’t able to do big things, it allows God to use His own power and abilities to perform miraculous things.

All God asks of each one of us is that we use what little we have to do His work. God will take any little amount that we can offer and expand it and multiply it and blow it up into the biggest, most fantastic accomplishments for Him that anyone could ever imagine!

Don’t hold anything back from God. God will miraculously use everything that you have to give, even if it’s only a little.

“Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God.” Romans 6:13 (NLT)

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I don’t have much…but it’s all Yours. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
