Metamorphosis

Bible Reading: 2 Corinthians 5:17

Is your life drastically different now from what it was like before you accepted Christ?

It may be. Why? Paul gives us the answer in 2 Corinthians 5:17 saying, “Therefore, if

anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” In other words, after you accept Christ as your Lord and Savior, your life will be different because you are different.

Some people seem to undergo a complete metamorphosis almost overnight. Their lives with Christ quickly become the opposite of what their lives were like without Christ.

Maybe that wasn’t the case for you. Maybe it seems that your life has barely changed since you accepted Christ.

Don’t worry. If you have accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior, you are a new creation just as much as the person whose salvation led to a sudden, dramatic change.

Christ has a unique timetable for each individual’s metamorphosis to Christ-likeness. Jesus knows the exact steps that each one of us needs to take and exactly how long it will take us to become what God wants us to be.

Trust God’s timetable.

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” 1 Peter 1:3

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I want so badly to be like Jesus. Help me to be patient as You work to change me Your way and in Your time. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
