Bible Reading: 2 John 6
Imagine that someone at school who everyone avoids like the plague trips and drops his or her books and papers in the hall. Everyone hurries past, ignoring the person’s
plight. What should you do – keep on moving like the rest of the crowd or stop to help and risk humiliation and ridicule?
You don’t ever need to pray and ask God what you should do in situations like this one. God has already clearly stated the right response. That response is recorded in 2 John verse 6 which says, “And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.” We are always to do act in ways that show love to others –always. Doing the loving thing is always right and we should never grow tired of doing what is right.
Make up your mind to take a stand on the side of right. Determine right now that, with God’s help, you will always do what is right, even when the right thing is hard or uncomfortable.
“And as for you, brothers, never tire of doing what is right.” 2 Thessalonians 3:13
Prayer: Heavenly Father, give me the courage to always do the right thing and act out of love toward others in all situations. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
