Jesus Died In Our Place

Bible Reading: Genesis 37:2, 22

When Joseph’s brothers wanted to kill him, his brother, Reuben, stopped them. Genesis 2 and 22 say, “When Reuben heard this, he tried to rescue him from their

hands. ‘Let's not take his life,’ he said. ‘Don't shed any blood. Throw him into this cistern here in the desert, but don't lay a hand on him.’ Reuben said this to rescue him from them and take him back to his father.” Rueben stepped in with a plan to try to rescue Joseph from his jealous brothers. By putting himself between Joseph and their other brothers, Reuben was interceding for Joseph.

Jesus did the same for us. God’s punishment for our sin was death – being separated from God forever. Jesus stepped in and rescued us from death by dying in our place. Jesus interceded for us.

If you will admit that you have sinned and believe that Jesus interceded for you, you will be rescued from being punished by being separated from God forever. You can be saved from sin.

“Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died – more than that, who was raised to life – is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.” Romans 8:33 & 34

Prayer: Jesus, I believe that you died in order to intercede for me. I’m sorry I put you through that. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
