Is God's Way Your Way?

Bible Reading: Isaiah 55:8

Look at today’s verse: “‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,’ declares the LORD.” God said that His thoughts aren’t ours, nor are His ways our

ways. In other words, God is holy. He does everything with selfless perfect love. His way of acting, reacting, speaking, thinking, even being is holy, pure – perfect.

If our ways aren’t like God’s ways, then that means our natural, human ways of acting, reacting, speaking, thinking, and just existing is self-centered, unholy, impure, and imperfect. We are only kind to those who are kind to us. We only really love those who love us. Our ways aren’t holy; our ways are sinful.

As Christians, shouldn’t God’s way be our way? Shouldn’t we be learning to live God’s way?

Go, no, RUN to God. Ask God’s forgiveness for doing things your own way for so long and ask Him to send His Holy Spirit to live in your heart and make it possible for God’s ways to become your ways.

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9

Prayer: Heavenly Father, “See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting” (Psalm 139:24). In Jesus’ name. Amen.
