Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 7:24
Sit back in your chair and relax for a moment.
Now I want you to think about something that you have to do, but don’t want to
do.
Next, I want you to read 1 Corinthians 7:24 – “Brothers, each man, as responsible to God, should remain in the situation God called him to.” In light of that verse, what is your responsibility to God?
Regardless of what it is that you have to do, God has placed you in that situation. He has made you responsible for seeing to it that that task gets done, whether it is as simple as taking out the trash or a complicated as telling a friend’s parents about his or her drug use. You are responsible to God. God will hold you accountable for that task. If it doesn’t get done, God will want to know why, and He will punish you for your negligence.
Now, I want you to relax and think about that thing that you have to do again. What are you going to do about it?
Hold yourself accountable for doing what you know you should do…God will.
“So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.” Romans 14:12
Prayer: Lord, help me to do what I know I have to do. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
