Bible Reading: Ephesians 6:17
We wear helmets to do many things like ride bikes and motorcycles and to work in mines and on construction sites. Helmets protect our heads from the bumps and blows
that could injure our minds.
In Ephesians 6:17, Paul advised us in today’s verse to wear a helmet of another kind, the “helmet of salvation” – “Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” The helmet of salvation protects us and our minds from Satan’s attacks by giving us hope that God will rescue us and return us to His presence.
Have you put on the helmet of salvation? If not, now is a good time to do that. Don’t let Satan have a clear shot at you any longer. Tell God that your sorry for your sin and that you believe that Jesus died to take the punishment for your sin. Ask God to send His Holy Spirit to live in your heart. When you do, God will place the helmet of salvation on your head.
“But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.” 1 Thessalonians 5:8
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I believe that Jesus died for me. Forgive my sins and give me the helmet of salvation. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
