Bible Reading: 2 Thessalonians 1:3
In 2 Thessalonians 1:3 Paul was praising the faith of the church of Thessalonica saying, “We ought always to thank God for you, brothers, and rightly so, because your faith is
growing more and more, and the love every one of you has for each other is increasing.” His praise pointed out that the more they trusted God, the more their faith grew.
Do you sometimes find it hard to trust God? Maybe it’s unsettling to trusts someone you can’t see or maybe it’s difficult to believe that God is really with you or that He really cares.
God understands your fears and concerns. He will help you trust Him more. Just ask God to help you trust Him more. Then, do something that you believe God wants you to do, but makes you nervous. That will give God the opportunity to show His power to you.
Allowing God to help you do things that you know please Him but scare you or make you nervous gives God the chance to show you that He is with you, that He does care, that He will help you, and that He is worthy of your trust and confidence.
When you’ve seen God demonstrate His power in your life, your ability to trust God will grow.
Continue praying and giving God opportunities to show Himself to you and others through your life. If you do, your trust in God will continue to grow. Then your faith will grow and you will be able to trust God even more.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I’m ready to take that next step that You’ve been asking me to take. I trust You to help me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
