Bible Reading: Romans 5:8
Grace is God’s giving us something that we don’t deserve. That “something” is forgiveness for our sins and eternal life in heaven. Grace is the biggest sign of just how
much God loves us. That’s because God didn’t offer us grace after we believed in Him and His Son, Jesus. God demonstrated“…his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). God provided grace before we even admitted that God was real, before we let God become a part of our lives, before we loved God. God showed His love for us and provided grace for us while we were still sinners disobediently rebelling against Him.
To experience the love God offers through grace, we have to stop trying and start trusting. Nothing we try will be able to buy God’s grace. God gives us His grace, and His love, FREE. We need only trust Him enough to reach out and take hold of His grace by asking God to forgive our sins and saying we believe Jesus died for us. When we do, God’s love becomes very real in our lives.
“This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” 1 John 4:10
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I’m done trying to save myself. Now I’m trusting Jesus as the only way to receive Your grace. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
