God Can't Lie

Bible Reading: John 17:1 & 17

Today’s Bible verses are a part of the prayer that Jesus prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane shortly before His arrest and crucifixion. In these verses Jesus, “…looked

toward heaven and prayed: ‘Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you…Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.’” This prayer was a reminder that Jesus died on the cross for our sins then rose again, fulfilling God’s plan and bringing glory and honor to God.

Sadly, some people believe that Jesus never rose from the dead. Let’s think about that for a moment…If Jesus didn’t rise from the dead, then we have no reason to look forward to life after death – life in heaven.

If Jesus’ resurrection is a lie, than so is salvation, eternal peace, eternal happiness, and eternal hope.

In fact, if Jesus’ resurrection is a lie, every word God has spoken, every promise He has made is also a lie and completely meaningless!

We have to make a choice. Either we believe that everything God says is a lie or we believe that everything God says is perfect, total truth.
