Bible Reading: Ecclesiastes 12:13
“Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole [duty] of man.”
“Spinning your wheels.” “Stuck in a rut.” “Going nowhere.” “Pointless.” “Senseless.” “Useless.” “Meaningless.”
Have you had days when you felt like those words and expressions described your life? When those days occurred, did you feel helpless to do anything about anything?
Even the great and wise King Solomon felt that way. After much thought, study, and research (you can read about it in the book of Ecclesiastes), King Solomon came to the conclusion that he recorded in Ecclesiastes 12:13. He concluded that loving and worshipping God is our main purpose in life. When we keep God first in our lives, loving and worshipping Him, everything takes on meaning and has purpose. Without God as the focal point in our lives, our lives can be summed up in Solomon's words in Ecclesiastes 12:8, “Meaningless, meaningless…Everything is meaningless.”
What are you going to keep your focus on God so that His presence can give your day-to-day living meaning?
“I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me.” Psalm 57:2 ESV
Prayer: Heavenly Father, come into my life and give it meaning and purpose. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
