Bible Reading: 2 Corinthians 12:7-10
You started out okay. You had good intentions. Your motives were pure. You were doing just what you thought God wanted you to do, but…something went wrong.
Maybe you ran out of money, time, or other resources.
Maybe you exhausted your personal abilities.
Maybe you feel like you’re in over your head.
Should you give up? Should you quit doing what you sincerely believe God wants you to do?
Before you give up, go to God. When we are at the end of ourselves, God goes on: “…My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me” (2 Corinthians 12:9). When we come to the end of our resources, abilities – the end of our self – then God can truly begin to work through us using His resources, His abilities, His very self.
Don’t give up; give in to God.
“That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:10
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I can’t go any further or do any more without You and Your limitless resources and abilities. Fill my life with You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
