Bible Reading: Psalm 103:13 & 14
We all want someone to care about us. It feels good to know someone is doing their best to meet our needs or provide for us, whether emotionally, physically, spiritually, or
financially. We all want to feel secure…and that is what it means to be cared for or provided for.
While God cares for and provides for all of His creations, for those who have given their lives to Jesus Christ, this care and provision is bumped up a few notches. Psalm 103:13 & 14 say, “As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him; for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.” For those people who honor and obey Him, God has promised them His care, His compassion, and His provision.
Psalm 8:4 asks us a thought-provoking question – “What is mankind that you [God] are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?” Think about it…why should God care about us? In many ways, we have abandoned Him, ignored Him, and rejected Him, and yet God, the Creator of the Universe, All-Knowing, All-Powerful, Ever-Present, Holy, Perfect, Lord and King over all people and things cares about you and me! God loves us and provides for our needs.
Why? Why should God care about us and provide for us?
Because He is God. He is Love. God created us to be with Him. He loves us because, with Jesus as our Lord and Savior, WE ARE HIS!
“And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your amazing care and provision. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
