Gifts from God (7)

Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 1:30

What gifts!

Our adopted Father, the perfect, holy, righteous God of heaven and earth, has given to us – each of us – His own perfection, His holiness, and His righteousness. They are ours!

That’s what it says in 1 Corinthians 1:30 – “It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.”

We can be perfect, never to make mistakes!

We can be holy, never to give in to sin.

We can be righteous, always in the right relationship with God and each other!

In fact, we are perfect, holy, and righteous – because of Jesus – precious gifts from God!

Jesus bought and paid for this gift of perfection, holiness, and righteousness with His own blood. Because of Jesus’ sacrifice, our adopted heavenly Father willingly and eagerly gave us His perfection, holiness, and righteousness. It cost us nothing. It is free! All that is left is for each one of us, as princes and princesses of heaven, is to claim this perfection, holiness, and righteousness and use it. Live it!

We are perfect, holy, and righteous, so we need to behave in perfect, holy, and righteous ways. We need to always do good and godly things. We need to always stand up to and resist doing wrong. We need to alwayscontinually – remain in the right relationship with our Father. That means that we are to stay close to Him, talk to Him, listen to Him, obey Him, and make Him happy and proud of us.

Living continually in a perfect, holy, and righteousness lifestyle that is a must for every prince and princess of the Heavenly Kingdom, not because it is required of us, not because it earns anything for us, but because that is the reason Jesus sacrificed and that is the reason the Father gave us His personal perfection, holiness, and righteousness. He expects us to use those gifts. We can’t wear them out. We can’t deplete them. As we use them, we will become closer and closer to our Father and His Son. We will become one with the Son.

“He has saved us and called us to a holy life – not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time.” 2 Timothy 1:9

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your gifts of holiness and righteousness which You have given to me because of my faith in Jesus. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
