Bible Reading: Psalm 33:18
Every human seeks to be loved. Love is a basic human need. We need to be loved by one another. Love is fundamental to our health and well-being.
Sadly, we imperfect humans love imperfectly. We hurt one another. We deliberately choose to withhold or withdraw our love from one another. We are unable to consistently and unconditionally love one another.
Thankfully, the kind of consistent, unconditional, and unfailing love we need we can get from God. In fact, this kind of love is a gift from God. God is the only One who can truly love us, consistently, unconditionally, and unfailingly.
God loves everyone this way. John 3:16 is proof of that love saying, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
However, without a personal relationship with God, we are unable to fully experience and enjoy God’s love for us. Psalm 33:18 says, “But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love.” Once we choose to return God’s love by admitting our sin and accepting His Son as our Lord and Savior, God’s gift of love is fully unwrapped. We begin to really know what it is like to be loved by God.
God does love you. He is waiting for you to accept His gift of love in its full expression. That’s God’s promise as written in Psalm 32:10 – “… the LORD's unfailing love surrounds the man who trusts in him.”
Will you accept it today?
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your consistent, unconditional, and unfailing love. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
