Bible Reading: 1 Peter 4:10
Could you imagine Noah as a preschool teacher or King David as a seamstress or John the Baptist as a CEO in a three-piece suit?
Somehow, it seems those three men would have been very out of place trying to do those jobs. God chose each one of those men to do a specific job. God also made sure that each one of them had the personality and skills to meet the challenge of the job he did.
Every job is important. Each job requires a specific type of personality and a specific set of skills. God has chosen you to do a specific job. He’s chosen a specific job for you. God has given you the personality and skills that you need to do that job. 1 Peter 4:10 says, “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms.” Whatever gifts, talents, and skills God has given to you, He has given to you for a purpose: to do His work here on earth by serving other people.
How are you using your gifts, talents, and skills to serve God and people? How are you planning to use those abilities in the weeks and months and years to come?
“Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them.” Romans 12:6 ESV
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for making me just the way I am. Help me to discover and use my skills to do the job that You’ve chosen for me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
